Artist's Comments

I was waiting for a friend to get done with her appointment, so I went to a floral shop and happened to stumble upon this hydrangea. I just loved the colors on it, so I couldn't leave without getting enough pictures of it. :D This would probably be the best of them. It looks great on my desktop. ;)

I hardly ever pay much attention to the single blossoms of a hydrangea but look at the whole flower instead - which is a shame since they are really beautiful.

hehe, welcome to the world of macro. I think I like that best with photography. It seems to be what most of my photos are. :plotting:

Yeah, these flowers here just really seemed to have caught my attention. If only I would've had more memory on my memory card, there surely would have been a lot more pictures. :D

I'm fascinated by macro photography too. It's a source of inspiration to me. I like the strong depth of field, focus and out of focus, soft and sharp. Diving into a different world or dimension. And the fact that you often don't see the whole subject but just parts of it. It leaves the rest up to the imagination.

Hehe, I also love that it can be so up close and personal and the details you that you may not otherwise really be able to see. It is able to give you a whole new perspective on something. To tell the truth, at first, I did pass this hydrangea on by, but before I left, I just happened to look at it again and saw the colors on the blooms. Then I just couldn't leave until I got some photos. :aww:

And now it's inspiring me to maybe do a watercolor. I'm hesitant though because I'm not very good with them.

You should just go ahead and start working on that watercolor picture. Being inspired is a state too precious to be passed by. The only way to get good at something is to practice I think. And it is also possible that you are more critical about your own work than others would be but, still, that should not keep you from trying.

hehe, I know if I used it more I might get better. And believe me, I'm not being too critical when it comes to my watercolors.

So nothing's keeping you from starting :D
:iconphoenixcreation:
Nothing but myself. I'm just not confident enough in using watercolors. I'm more comfortable with other paints, pencil, colored pencil, pastels, and pen and ink.

Well, just give it a try whenever you feel like it. Fortunately there's noone forcing you to do it. It should be fun in the first place :-)
